Locally, candidate filing is available for offices including governing board member positions on school district boards, directors on Mayers Memorial Hospital District Board and Mt. Redding - The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) has announced that with the weather getting hotter and dryer, and due to the seasonal menace of wildfires, and their potential to destroy life and property, all dooryard burn permits within Shasta and Eastern Trinity counties will be Suspended effective midnight June 30, 2010.
